How engagements are structured
1. Books review — no cost. We look at your current file and current pain, agree what “done” means, and estimate the hours the work will take at $35.00 an hour.
2. Engagement letter. A short, plain-language agreement: scope, the estimated hours at $35.00 an hour, what we need from you, how either side can end it.
3. Onboarding. Read-only access to your bank feeds and accounting software, a chart-of-accounts review, and any agreed catch-up.
4. Steady state. The monthly close, delivered by business day five, plus your review call and ongoing support.

Two things worth knowing
We fit around what you already have.
We work alongside your CPA
Keep the tax advisor you trust. We give them a clean, reconciled year-end package — trial balance, statements, and supporting schedules — which usually means a faster, cheaper return. Need an introduction to a CPA or EA? We can make one.
Switching is not painful
We migrate from your current bookkeeper or software, reconcile a clean starting point, and document what changed. Most transitions are done inside one close cycle.
Questions
Frequently asked.
No. Natural Harmonics Financial is not a CPA firm, and we are not Enrolled Agents or attorneys. We do not perform audits, reviews, compilations or any other attest engagement, and we do not represent clients before the IRS or the California Franchise Tax Board — that requires an Enrolled Agent, CPA or attorney. We do prepare and file income-tax returns as a California Registered Tax Preparer — see the next question. Full detail is in our Disclaimer.
Yes — federal and state income-tax returns for small businesses and their owners, prepared and filed as a California Registered Tax Preparer signing under an IRS PTIN, at the same $35.00 an hour. Because the same team keeps your books, the return is largely written before the deadline arrives, so it usually takes fewer hours than a reconstruction. See Tax Filing.
The rate never changes — $35.00 an hour for every service — so the only question is how many hours the work takes, and we estimate those in writing before any work starts, after a no-cost review of your books. The biggest drivers are monthly transaction volume and the number of bank and credit-card accounts we reconcile, plus whether you need accrual accounting, payroll, or multi-state sales tax. It is not based on your revenue. Try the estimator for a range.
No. You pay for the hours the work actually takes at $35.00 an hour — no minimum, no retainer, nothing recurring. Either side can end the relationship with 30 days’ notice, and we hand over a clean, reconciled file and your full chart of accounts. Catch-up and onboarding work is estimated in hours up front, in writing.
Primarily QuickBooks Online and Xero, with Bill.com or Ramp for accounts payable, Gusto for payroll, and native integrations for Stripe, Shopify, Square, and the major banks. If you are on desktop QuickBooks or another platform, we will tell you honestly whether we can work in it or recommend a migration.
No. We guarantee professional standards, an on-time close, and full transparency. Business outcomes depend on many factors outside our control. See our Disclaimer.
Our headquarters is in San Francisco, California, with a mailing address in Arlington, Virginia. The work is remote-first, so we serve small businesses across all 50 states and the five inhabited U.S. territories. See Locations.
